Experience
While my degrees are in English and French, I consider myself more of a Renaissance woman and have completed coursework in a variety of other disciplines, including history, philosophy, and economics. As a student, I was driven by a desire to understand. As a tutor, I strive to help my students reach this same degree of knowledge. At college, I was on the departmental list of French tutors for over three years. I have studied in France and am qualified to help students with grammar, writing and oral comprehension. During my years at college, I regularly helped other students with all stages of the essay-writing process, from brainstorming ideas through the process of constructing, editing and wordsmithing the finished draft. I am also available to help students improve their standardized testing skills. I was a National Merit Scholar in high school and scored a composite 34 on my ACT. It's my belief that to a great degree, success on these exams is determined by one's skills at taking the test and that these skills are easy to learn.
